Additional Fearless Fourteen (Stephanie Plum, No. 14) Information

Personal vendettas, hidden treasure, and a monkey named Carl will send bounty hunter Stephanie Plum on her most explosive adventure yet.

The Crime:  Armed robbery to the tune of nine million dollars

Dom Rizzi robbed a bank, stashed the money, and did the time. His family couldn’t be more proud. He always was the smart one.

The Cousin:  Joe Morelli

Joe Morelli, Dom Rizzi, and Dom’s sister, Loretta, are cousins. Morelli is a cop, Rizzi robs banks, and Loretta is a single mother waiting tables at the firehouse. The all-American family.

The Complications:  Murder, kidnapping, destruction of personal property, and acid reflux

Less than a week after Dom’s release from prison, Joe Morelli has shadowy figures breaking into his house and dying in his basement. He’s getting threatening messages, Loretta is kidnapped, and Dom is missing.

The Catastrophe:  Moonman

Morelli hires Walter “Mooner” Dunphy, stoner and “inventor” turned crime fighter, to protect his house. Morelli can’t afford a lot on a cop’s salary, and Mooner will work for potatoes.

The Cupcake:  Stephanie Plum

Stephanie and Morelli have a long-standing relationship that involves sex, affection, and driving each other nuts. She’s a bond enforcement agent with more luck than talent, and she’s involved in this bank-robbery-gone-bad disaster from day one.

The Crisis:  A favor for Ranger

Security expert Carlos Manoso, street name Ranger, has a job for Stephanie that will involve night work. Morelli has his own ideas regarding Stephanie’s evening activities.

The Conclusion:  Only the fearless should listen to Fourteen.

Thrills, chills, and incontinence may result.

What Customers Say About Fearless Fourteen (Stephanie Plum, No. 14):

The fact that Stephanie still hasn't made a decision between the two has gone on way too long, but I never expected either of them to practically be written out of the series. Another typical installment of Stepahnie Plum -- car damage, Bob pooping, crazies following her around, Grandma getting into trouble. It's hard to believe these last few books are from the same series as the great books that started it all out.And where was Ranger.

I had some laugh out loud moments and enjoyed the book. I was surprised by the negative reviews since I felt the book was pretty much on par with the other Stephanie Plum books. It wasn't my favorite of the series; however, it was still entertaining, which is what I expect from the author. I held off on purchasing the Kindle version due to what I felt was an outrageous initial price and poor reader reviews. Once the Kindle price dropped I went ahead and purchased the book.

I would not use this vendor again.maryann douglass I have not received this book, I checked to see when it would come but is now long past due. Everything else I ordered has come in a timely fashion.

As a bigfan of Evanovich's earlier Stephanie Plum novels, they aregetting increasingly stale, boring, and repetitive. And, if she head slaps herself or Grandma does something totallyunbelieveable AGAIN, that's it for me.ENOUGH.What happened to the humor and fun of SEVEN UP.I never thought I'd say it but Evanovich has failed to deliveragain.AM I THE ONLY ONE THAT THINKS IT'S TIME FOR GRANDMA MAZURTO MAKE HER "FINAL" TRIP TO STIVA'S. Ok Ms. Evanovich, I'm going to give you one more chanceafter this and then I'm done with Stephanie.

Lula is living in lala land most of the time and goes off on tangents (ie her engagement) that have little to do with reality. The suspense was only so-so, but I don't expect perfection eveytime in everything. I laughed in some places, got irritated at Stephanie in her dithering between Joe and Ranger, loved grandma Mauzer in her role as gammer, and enjoyed Lula's engagement delima with Tank. I wasn't fond of the idea of Joe being an unknowing father to a teenage son, but I did appreciate the ending Janet provided for that situation. After reading many reviews by other readers on this book, I almost passed up reading it.

I also missed some of the more zany take downs (or mess ups) with Steph going after her no-shows, but the monkey was a couple of laughs. I will agree that the book started slow. Ranger was rather dry this time, but he wasn't a major player. I do look forward to the next Plum book that Janet puts out, and hope to have another enjoyable read with old friends and a few great laughs. Brenda was sort of thrown in to be an irritant to everybody. Being attracted to two georgeous men at the same time is not unusual, but having sexual relationships with both at the same time is tacky.

I am a Stephanie Plum/Janet Evanovich fan and devour any books I find about her or by her.Well, let me give my opinion after reading this book in a single sitting. By page 14 I was wondering if Janet had really written this book because the characters were dry and half asleep and by page 20 I was not sure I wanted to finish it. Although Grandma usually has a more prominant role when she gets involved with Stephanie's life, this time she was a fairly tame background attraction; but I still enjoyed her zest for life. I thought it was good. Stephanie is drawn to two men for different reasons and, even though I like both male characters, I don't like Stephanie's inability to committ to Joe and just accept a friendship with Ranger. Zook was a typical teenage kid with geek tendencies who is believable and likable.

Janet is good at developing a complicated plot with many characters and lots of off shoots. But, the action began to pick up and the characters woke up and began to do their "things" and I really got into the story.
